The MEC believes in teacher – led innovation. Coalition teams continue to implement programmes for students and professional learning opportunities for teachers that motivate both students and teachers to explore new ways of learning and teaching.

Teachers are keen to explore new curriculum and pastoral care models that foster connectedness with peers and school, personalise student learning and provide a deeper understanding of the world around them through authentic and engaging tasks.

Parkwood SC Year 10 Science – ‘Mission to Mars’
As part of the MEC Success for Boys Project, two Year 10 Science classes at Parkwood SC trialled a six week unit of work about Mars which culminated in a simulated ‘Mission to Mars’ event at the Strathmore Space Centre.
